Salvia 'Finngrove'

This is supposed to be a South African hybrid, recently discovered in Melbourne, Australia. It is thought to be a hybrid of S. africana and S. namaensis, photos of both are on this site. I received seeds from this, with a warning that they may hybridise again.....which they have! The plant which I raised is beautiful, flowers resemble Salvia muirii, but the foliage is different. So, currently naming this as X Finngrove. Hybrids are so often better than the parents, this is typical example. Very aromatic foliage.
